THE LEGEND IN A NAME

I've been fascinated by trees my whole life, with the African Fever Tree and the Baobab being my favourites. By looking at the growth rings in a cross-section of a tree, we determine its age, with each ring representing a year of growth. It is the stable root structure that supports the tree, holding it firmly in place and upright. The ROOTS send critical water and nutrients to the established infrastructure of the tree, while also enabling new shoots to emerge.

As people, we are no different. We too need to be well-rooted and well-nourished, and we need to feel taken care of so that we may flourish. Just as a tree relies on its ROOTS for support, stability, and growth, we depend on our own foundations and the support systems around us in order to thrive.

There is a saying that, in our lives, we encounter three categories of people:

LEAF PEOPLE, these come into your life for a short time, you can't rely on them because they are not strong, they only take what they need and then the leave

BRANCH PEOPLE, they seem strong, but they break away when things get tough, they stay for a while, but when life gets harder, they disappear

ROOT PEOPLE, these are the most important people, they don't help just to be noticed, they stay with you through hard times, they support you,
are there for you and accept you as you are. ROOT PEOPLE stay, no matter the season
